Whoever says “Bohemiae Rosa”, says People, Planet, Profit. These three elements are central at Bohemiae Rosa, because the resort is doing business in a socially responsible manner. It is the main thought where the owner of the complex, Ingmar Booij, started. Booij and his family wanted to get away from the hectic and polluted urban life and wanted to really pay attention to ‘living consciously and healthy’.
Bohemiae Rosa produces food itself. The meat of poultry, cows, pigs, sheep and goats come from the our own farm. Also various crops, such as fruit and vegetables are cultivated on our own land. From spring to autumn, animals such as ducks, chickens, geese and turkeys are on the farm for the production of seasonal meat.
The food produced here is served in the restaurant. It is all ecological food without pesticides, dyes, flavors and fragrances. Fruit and vegetable remains from the restaurant even go back to the farm.In this way, nothing is wasted!
The Bohemiae Rosa Farm
In the gardens all sorts of common vegetables are produced such as different sorts of tomato's, letuce, peppers, paprika's, cabbage, beets, garlic, rhubarb, spinach and asparagus. There are so many in fact that you need to come and see for yoourself. Other crops are also grown such as grain, potatoes, unions and carrots. A large part of the vegetables are grown outside, however a 150 square meter greenhouse is also available. The latter is heated by rest heating of the other buildings.
Recently we have added around 500 new fruit trees to the orchards.
A 400 square meter herb garden has been created in the centre square of the courtyard. This does not only provide for good spicy meals, but by its location also offers a possiblity to clear the mind in a fragrant environment.
